The formation of Theatre Zingaro
In the period of the 1980s theatre gained quite some popularity as a regular medium of relaxing and entertaining. However moving apart from the conventional approach to theatre there were a few appreciably brave attempts to set bench marks with a new dimensional theatre that would give the viewers a totally unseen and unheard experience. In one such attempt Bartabas, a keen equestrian and a trained and talented actor began the journey of what is popularly known as Zingaro or Theatre Zingaro or Zingaro Theatre . The founder was influenced by his most adored horse, whose name was Zingaro and hence the performing group was named so, one major reason other than his affection towards the animal that was his companion for nearly 20 years was that Bartabas saw that his performances would include the human performers in alliance with animals (horses) which made Zingaro a totally different group and gave it an unique identity which later became the brand.
The group in the later part of the 1980s settled in the area lying north of Paris which became the home for all participating members including the horses. The group consisted of actors, dancers, technicians and the skilful animals. Since the group tried to bring about the aspects of the bond between the horses and men their coordination was highly critical and this was where Zingaro excelled. They ensured that they got the right people handling the right animals and the right people doing the right job. With all efforts and hard work theatre Zingaro did get success and applauds from world over and as of today they have travelled to various continents in order to exhibit and showcase the power of their performances and shows. They have been constantly evolving and providing the audience with quality and variety.

Theatre Zingaro, a new dimension
Theatre is one of the oldest forms of entertainment in the world and there have been various groups that have existed in the history of mankind but only a few have sustained and survived over a period of time. But most of the surviving groups have been followers on conventional theatre but Theatre Zingaro has been one group that has redefined theatre by adding a new dimension to it. Zingaro a group that was formed in France during the mid 1980s by an equestrian named Bartabas who was also an actor. He had thought of combining both his interests and hence started Zingaro a theatre group with the cast and crew consisting of humans and horses. This new dimension based theatre group was named after Bartabas’ most liked horse which in Spanish means “gypsy”. Theatre Zingaro started off in France with their first performance Cabaret Equestre gaining huge popularity among the local crowd. This event began the journey of this elite theatre group that showcases the relation between men and horses with a mix of cultures from across the globe.
Some of their other popular shows included hits like “Eclipse”, Chimere” and others while their show “Horses of the wind” was a huge hit among the European audience. Battuta is one of their latest for performances that has been developed for the people in Turkey. The spirit of the artistes with the kind of story explained through and with the horses is truly the sign of a genius at work and there are no two thoughts on the fact that Theatre Zingaro is one of the best theatre groups that has made it big on the international map and has a name for itself among followers across the world. All said and done Theatre Zingaro has added a totally new dimension to theatre which is more than just an act of entertainment.

The History of Zingaro
Theatre Zingaro or as it is popularly called Zingaro is one of the most unique theatre groups across the world. The group had started off in the mid 1980s under the guidance of Bartabas, an equestrian with a flair for acting. Zingaro eventually was a name that came from the name of the horse which the founder owned and stayed with for nearly two decades. The word has its origin in Spanish and the meaning is “gypsy”. The fundamentals of Zingaro were based on showcasing the raw talent after fine tuning it in a very artistic way. The group has always highlighted the relation of horse with man and in doing so they have ensured to incorporate the cultural inputs coming from the civilisations that are scattered across the world. They have been successful in demonstrating this unique practise of narrating a story in this manner and have performed in cities around the globe.
The Zingaro group has now settled down in the region located towards northern Paris and all their performers and the animals live there since the late 1980s. Also an interesting part is that all the horses in the group have been named after popular artists and Picasso, Goya etc are common names out here. Bartabas and his group proved to be a huge hit in France with their very first performance titled Cabaret Equestre. The instant success for the group also led to future prospective performances in other parts of the world and Theatre Zingaro has seen to it that it can provide continuous entertainment to all its viewers and have also tried to ensure that the content of each performance is maintained so that the viewers are not disappointed. This combination of horse and man has worked since the period of its establishment and the future looks strong as well.
